The City of Newton is selling 21.39 acres of ground in the Southtown Industrial Park.

Written Appraisal and Contract for Sale of Real Estate are available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk, City of Newton, Jasper County, Illinois.
All bidders shall be required to submit a sealed bid to Maggie McDonald, City Clerk, City Hall 108 N Van Buren, Newton, IL 62448 on or before APRIL 7, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. At that date, time and place the bids will be publicly opened. Those submitting sealed bids shall have the right to be present at the bid opening and at that time, the staff of the City of Newton shall accept further bids from those that have submitted sealed bids until sale is made to the highest bidder. The highest bidder shall then execute a CONTRACT TO BUY AND SELL REAL ESTATE provided that the sale is subject to confirmation by the City Council, City of Newton, Jasper County, Illinois and shall be required to submit an earnest money deposit of 10% of the bid with the balance to be paid upon transfer of title. The City of Newton shall provide a title commitment for title insurance in the amount of the purchase.
