Welcome to the Newton Electric Department
City of Newton Electric Department is responsible for maintaining two substations and electric lines, in addition to installing electric service and troubleshooting for the city’s electric customers.
Electric Signup & Deposit
Electric service for those residents living within city limits is available through City Hall. Individuals are asked to present an address for services as well as a form of identification. Rental customers and homeowners are required to make a $350.00 or $500.00 deposit. The minimum charge for residential customers is $10.72 per month. The minimum charge for commercial customers is $32.21 per month.
