The City of Newton would like to remind citizens the following city offices are in the
2027 Consolidated Primary Election, February 23, 2027:
- 1 alderman Ward #1 – 4 year term
- 1 alderman Ward #2 – 4 year term
- 1 alderman Ward #3 – 4 year term

- Note: If the offices are uncontested there will be no primary. The candidates will be voted into office at the Consolidated Election on April 6, 2027.

2025 Consolidated Election April 6, 2027
- 4 Zoning Board Members (4-year term)
Primary Petitions can be filed Monday through Friday beginning October 19-26, 2026 between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All filings will take place at the front counter in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 108 N. Van Buren. All forms to file for candidacy are in the “2027 Candidate’s Guide” available on the State Board of Elections web site, www.elections.il.gov.
