Notice of Public Hearing before the Zoning Board of Appeals

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Public Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the council room at City Hall, 108 N Van Buren St., Newton, IL to consider a request for the County of Jasper to construct a new governmental courthouse on said parcel. Current zoning for said parcel is B-2 Central Business. Said properties are described as:

Parcel Number:  90-12-01-134-001

Legal Description:  333′ X 333′ PUBLIC SQUARE BLOCK 1 CITY OF NEWTON BOOK A P 5; (COURTHOUSE)

Said request is made by the County of Jasper.  Application is on file in the office of the Newton City Clerk, 108 N. Van Buren, Newton, Illinois.

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and be heard for or against said proposal.
